HBT 08 Secret Santa

I just had to share the beautiful bounty of beers that I've never tried.  One of the forums that I frequent, HomeBrewTalk (HBT), organized a Secret Santa exchange to give members an opportunity to try regional beers unavailable to them where they live.

The list, from left to right:

I'm not sure where to start.

I'll be posting my tasting notes here.  Stay tuned.

  3. That's a very interesting lineup. I'm envious.

Haven't tried a single one, myself.

  4. Eric:

Definitely looking forward to the Pliny- I've heard some amazing things about this beer. Don't know if you saw my tasting notes on Choklat a few posts back; Keith and I both raved about it.

  5. I love Hair of the Dog Fred. I have a bottle of the '08 I picked up in San Francisco. A brewer in the club is friends with Adam, the brewer over at HOTD. He got the recipe from Adam a long time ago, and he brews a slightly stronger and darker version every spring. He has his '05 and '06 on tap right now, his '07 and '08 are still conditioning in the kegs. It's the most amazing homebrew I have ever had. One of these days I'll try to talk him out of the recipe.

The Pliny has a wonderful hop flavor. It's a hophead's dream... no malt to get in the way of the hops. All you taste is hops. :)

I haven't had any of the others you have there so I'll be interested to see what you think!
